Stock Firmware for Raspberry Pi 4
Arm Virtual Hardware provides several ready-to-use firmware packages (stock firmware) to run on virtual Raspberry Pi 4 devices. These are zip archives prepared according to the AVH Linux firmware package format explained in Linux Firmware Packages. Following stock firmware packages are available:
- Ubuntu Server on RPi (22.04.1) firmware runs the distribution of Ubuntu Server 22.0.4 LTS for Raspberry Pi 4. Learn more about this OS at Ubuntu for Raspberry Pi.
- Raspberry Pi OS Lite (11.2.0) firmware contains the lightweight variant of Raspberry Pi OS based on Debian 11 (bullseye). See Raspberry Pi OS images and Raspberry Pi OS documentation to learn more.
- Raspberry Pi OS Desktop (11.2.0) firmware provides the Desktop variant of Raspberry Pi OS based on Debian 11 (bullseye). See Raspberry Pi OS images and Raspberry Pi OS documentation to learn more.
When creating a new virtual board (see example in Quickstart for Raspberry Pi 4), on the Configure your device screen in drop-down menu Select an example firmware you can choose the target stock firmware that the virtual board instance shall run.
Alternatively, you can also run Custom Firmware for Raspberry Pi 4.
